As our Behold: The Revelation of Jesus Christ series continued, Pastor Lucas Miles walked through Revelation 5, highlighting what many consider the climax of the entire book—and all of Scripture. While Revelation is often viewed through the lens of end-times prophecy, Pastor Lucas showed that the heart of this chapter is the worthiness of Jesus Christ. As John weeps because no one is found worthy to open the scroll, heaven's attention turns to the Lion of the tribe of Judah, who appears as the Lamb who was slain. Through this powerful image, Revelation reveals Jesus as the fulfillment of the sacrificial system, the Passover Lamb, and the victorious King who alone is worthy to redeem creation.
Throughout the message, Pastor Lucas explored the significance of the scroll, the worship of heaven, and the new song declaring Christ's victory. He unpacked key theological truths woven throughout the chapter, including the divinity of Christ, the beauty of the Trinity, the priesthood of every believer, and the confidence that God both hears our prayers and remains sovereign over history. He also challenged several common misconceptions, reminding believers that Revelation is ultimately a book centered on the gospel and the person of Jesus Christ.
The message concluded with an invitation to respond to the Lamb who alone is worthy. Because Jesus has conquered through His sacrifice, every believer can confidently approach God, worship with hope, and join the chorus of heaven proclaiming His glory.
