As our Behold: The Revelation of Jesus Christ series continued, Pastor Lucas Miles walked through Revelation 4, shifting our focus from the chaos of earth to the throne room of heaven. Rather than presenting the chapter as a roadmap of end-times events, he emphasized its central message: no matter what is happening in the world, God is still seated on His throne.
Throughout the message, Pastor Lucas unpacked John's vision of heaven, drawing connections to Isaiah and Ezekiel to reveal God's holiness, majesty, and sovereignty. He explored the significance of the twenty-four elders, the four living creatures, and the unending declaration of "Holy, Holy, Holy," showing how these images would have encouraged the early church as they faced persecution and pressure to worship the Roman emperor. He also addressed several common interpretations of Revelation 4, encouraging believers to let Scripture interpret Scripture while keeping Christ at the center of the text.
The message concluded with a challenge to lift our eyes above our circumstances and fix them on the One who reigns forever. Because the throne is occupied, we can live with confidence, humility, and hope, laying our crowns before the only One who is worthy of all glory, honor, and praise.
